Via Detroit Pistons PR: "The @DetroitPistons announced today that the team has signed forward/center Chimezie Metu to a 10-day contract."

Metu was the 49th pick in the 2018 NBA Draft out of USC and has played six seasons in the league for the Sacramento Kings, San Antonio Spurs (and Suns).

His career averages are 5.6 points and 3.3 rebounds per contest while shooting 49.4% from the field and 29.7% from the three-point range in 246 regular season games.

He has also appeared in three NBA playoff games with the Kings (last season).

As for the Pistons, they have had an extremely disappointing season and are the 14th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 12-56 record in 68 games.

They have gone 3-7 over their last ten games and are also in the middle of a three-game losing streak.

Most recently, the Pistons lost to the Boston Celtics by a score of 119-104.

Following their matchup with the Pacers, they will play their next game on Friday evening when they host the Celtics in Michigan.

The Pistons last made the NBA playoffs during the 2019 season when Blake Griffin and Andre Drummond were still on the roster.
